KANGLONG’s Journey to the Peaks of Wuyi Mountain (August 2025)

In the radio industry, 15 years teaches you one thing: the best equipment is only as good as the people who build it. From August 22nd to 24th, 2025, we paused the busy production lines at our Quanzhou two-way radio manufacturer facility to take our team to a place where nature meets history—the UNESCO World Heritage site of Wuyi Mountain in Fujian.

This wasn't just a vacation. It was a 72-hour deep dive into team coordination, field testing, and the "craftsman spirit" that defines KANGLONG. 

Wuyi Mountain: A Masterclass in Heritage and Precision

Wuyi Mountain is more than just scenery; it’s an atmosphere. As a reliable walkie-talkie factory, we appreciate things that are built to last, and Wuyi has stood the test of time for millennia.

• The Peaks and the River: We climbed Xiannu Peak (Fairy Peak), where the steep, red sandstone cliffs challenged our stamina. Below us, the Nine-Bend Stream winds through the valley. Watching the bamboo rafts navigate the currents is a lesson in flow—much like how we design the internal circuitry of our radios to handle high-frequency signals without interference.

• The Legend of Rock Tea: You cannot visit Wuyi without mentioning its world-famous Rock Tea (Yancha). This isn't just a local specialty; it is a Chinese national treasure. The way the tea masters roast the leaves to achieve that unique "rock rhyme" fragrance is exactly how we approach our tuning—meticulous, patient, and focused on the smallest details.

The Real-World Test: PG-55 in the Wild

We are wireless experts, so "office hours" never truly end. While touring the mountain trails by bus, we put our PG-55 poc radio to the ultimate test.

Deep valleys and dense forests are notorious for killing radio signals. However, the PG-55 held its ground:

• Stable: Even with massive rock formations between our two groups, the audio remained crystal clear.

• No Dead Zones: 15 years of manufacturing experience has taught us how to optimize antenna gain for exactly these kinds of environments.

• Battery Reliability: After a full day of coordination in the summer heat, the units still had plenty of power left for the ride home.
